30.04.2012 · A very special group of people who made it all happen

Now that we have launched our online shop, we would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to a very special group of people.

They have helped us in so many ways that we cannot imagine how we would have pulled through otherwise. Here are our heroes:

Katharina Schössler and Henry Jaeger – Food technicians and general experts for so much at the Department of Food Process Engineering at the Technische Universität Berlin.

Our launch pad into the mystical lava island… Klaus Guttenberger – Director of La Tanganilla, association of organic farming in Lanzarote and Director of the local WWF Office.

Markus Weisbeck and the whole Surface Team – Surface, an obsession with sustainable graphic design.

Jan Persiel –  Persiel.com fuses with technology creating usability and beauty.

The competent and kind team at the Paradiesfrucht freeze-drying company which supported us from day one – Paradiesfrucht and “freeze-dried freshness.”

Bernadette Karl – senior accessories designer… one day a chilli bracelet.

Margarethe  and Elisabeth Petrus – when manual labour becomes a delicate craft.

Xenxo and Julia López – helping us cross our linguistic bounds.

Josep Rovira – Filmdirector at tv3 – Josep is not only a language whizz, but also a dear amic!

Suse and Hannes von Goesseln – “Lanza” insiders, art insiders and wonderful friends.

Joana BreidenbachJoana on how to inspire while perspiring.

Julinka – Without you, we would have floated down the river of nameless oblivion.

Finally:

Special thanks to Dominika Martin and José Maria Guerra Cabrera, the family behind the Finca la Sarantontona for cultivating what we think are the world’s best chillies as one of their organic farm products. Your patience and believing in us has made this project so special to us. We want to make you proud.

About us

Josefina Petrus and
Anna Yukiko Bickenbach

We love chilies; both of us from childhood. Our backgrounds could not have been more different. Josefina accompanied her parents on trips to India. Anna grew up on three continents, including on the island of Okinawa, where chilies are soaked in sake.

Both of us have had the opportunity to do many fantastic things. Josefina has produced films, coached basketball, worked for the charity platform Betterplace.org and served as a Board Member of a British school. Anna plays serious volleyball and co-founded the ecological platform Ecotastic.

We don’t like to compromise… if it is possible to have the best quality, why do for less. And we casually relish chilies like others do candy.
