27.02.2016 · The New Harvest is Here… Hot Fire Monkey Chilies!

Today, we are pleased to announce the arrival of our new harvest at The Love of Chilies. This means that lots of new, fiery, red-hot, freeze-dried chilies are now available in our store.

A few days ago, the Chinese Lunar Year festivities ended, which heralded the new Year of the Monkey. But 2016 is not just any old monkey. It is the “Fire” version. The last time this happened was in 1956.

The “Fire Monkey” year is just perfect for our incredibly hot, aroma-laden, freeze-dried chilies. We cannot wait to send off new fiery chili monkey packages to you.

Proud to announce my new The Love of Chilies partner, the amazing Anna Yukiko Bickenbach. More information soon…

There is an important thing we must also flag, however. Unfortunately, we had to raise the price of the black tin. This is because the black tin is very elaborately colour printed* and the price of this method has gone up. We could only produce a few of them, so we do not have a lot at the moment. We are looking to change our packaging in the future to continue bringing you amazing quality for a great price.

The price of the refill packs remains unchanged. We hope that you already have a tin at home and can fill them with our incredibly hot, spicy chilies.

We are here to serve you the best chilies in the best way possible, so if you have any comments or suggestions, don’t forget we are just an email away and are looking forward to your feedback. Thank you. And now happy shopping (while they last).

Greetings from The Love of Chilies,

Josefina and Anna.

(*Footnote: The Love of Chilies aficionados out there know that the white logo on the tin includes two tiny, special red spots. We love this logotype – created by Markus Weisbeck, a dear friend, a well-known visual designer and also Bauhaus Professor.)

About us

Josefina Petrus and
Anna Yukiko Bickenbach

We love chilies; both of us from childhood. Our backgrounds could not have been more different. Josefina accompanied her parents on trips to India. Anna grew up on three continents, including on the island of Okinawa, where chilies are soaked in sake.

Both of us have had the opportunity to do many fantastic things. Josefina has produced films, coached basketball, worked for the charity platform Betterplace.org and served as a Board Member of a British school. Anna plays serious volleyball and co-founded the ecological platform Ecotastic.

We don’t like to compromise… if it is possible to have the best quality, why do for less. And we casually relish chilies like others do candy.
